Spotlight on Pierre Van Staden

This month we are visiting Pierre van Staden, Regional Manager Transmart |4PL Freight Durban.

“My career in the transport and warehousing industry started in Scotland in 2001. After several years, I returned to South Africa and in 2011 I begun working for 4PL Freight Durban.

Last October there was a successful amalgamation of Transmart and 4Pl Freight, this was the beginning of greater things ahead. At that moment in time I was Operations Manager, since then I have been afforded the opportunity to fill the position of Regional Manager (Durban). I rose to the challenge as I believe no task is too difficult if you possess the right attitude and have a strong supportive team.

When I reflect over all the years that I have been in the industry, the funniest thing that I’ve ever been asked was “how long is a 12 meter trailer?”

In my spare time I like to watch football and rugby but above this I enjoy every moment that I get to spend with my family, making memories with the people I treasure the most.

My motto in life is “if you don’t believe in yourself why would someone else believe in you “, these words of wisdom is my driving force daily.”
